Warning command usage
The warning command is still new, therefore we need to adapt, double-check and enhance its usability.
- Use it as follows: /warn username (or #userid) "Reason"
- Always use quotation marks when using more than a word in a command
We rely on progressive discipline for a certain kind infractions.
- Autohealing software
- Botting suspicion (read "Documentation for cases of botting")
When using /warn, always use "quotation marks" for the "reason"
Example:
/warn user botting suspicion = logged as "botting" (Wrong)
/warn user "botting suspicion" = logged as "botting suspicion" (Right)
Vendor removal
A vendor usually needs to be removed for two specific -yet not limited to- situations:
- Offensive shop name
- Shop is used to block another shop
Tip: You just need to left click the vendor and use "/removevendor"
In the event a ban is considered, there needs to be a discussion with the team + final decision by Game Master
I. General chat-based infractions (single character)
Temporary chat blocking is primarily to be used for chat-based offenses.
This includes, but is not limited to the following infractions:
- Insults, offensive behavior, racism, verbal harassment, etc.
- Any other offences that occur via chat
Other characters from the same user may face the same punishment if needed (discussion with the team + final decision by Game Master)
- Chat spam using automated software
Should the number of these offenses reach double figures, a permanent chat ban may be considered (discussion with the team + final decision by Game Master)
In particularly severe cases, a ban of the character may also be considered (discussion with the team + final decision by Game Master)
II. Repetitive chat-based infractions (single user, several characters)
A user punished for a chat-based infraction may pursue his offenses with new or alt characters while his main character is punished. On such cases, we escalate punishments on the alt characters by considering they’re a direct extension of the first punished character.
During the duration of “Character 1” punishment, the following board has to be applied to other characters of the same user.
- Ongoing /tempmute punishment on “Character 1” and the same player continues with alt characters:
As soon as the 3rd character is reached and the ban is issued, a Game Master has to be advised of the situation, since an account-wide ban will be retroactively issued to the main and alt characters.
III. Attempted account theft by asking for login credentials
There’re many reported cases of account theft or compromised accounts.
These mostly occur when players try to steal the account data from other players by impersonating friends or guild mates.
Applicable without the consent of a Game Master in the case of clear (in-game) evidence
Permanent chat blocking is primarily to be used for chat-based offences.
It is primarily used for RMT related offences by spam bots (shadow mute).
In particularly serious cases, it can also be used directly as the first measure for verbal player misconduct.
Such cases should always be discussed within the team + final decision by Game Master
Intentionally interfering with the playing experience of other players
Freezing a character is primarily used for action-based offenses.
- Luring Giants into other players to hinder them with Giants' special
attacks
- Intentionally blocking a monster spawn with the aim of preventing other players from leveling at that spawn (Permanently attracting an entire spawn without defeating the monsters)
- Intentionally blocking NPCs (Leading to the NPC not being usable by other players)
The freeze can be combined with a teleport of the player to an unpopulated area (ex: instances)
Evidence must be provided in the form of videos. Screenshots are not valid
Should the number of these offenses reach double figures, a ban of the character may be considered (discussion with the team + final decision by Game Master)
I. Banning a single character
Banning a character should only be used as a first measure in absolutely exceptional cases of behavioural violations, use of bot software, RMT-related violations, or staff team impersonation.
These include, but are not limited to, the following offenses:
Please be very careful with the /ban command. It needs GM attention to be lifted again
Applicable without the consent of a Game Master in the case of clear (in-game) evidence
Please be aware of the documentation guidelines for cases of botting
II. IP-banning characters
Using /ipban disconnects and bans all the characters logged on the IP you are targeting.
While this is very useful on most European and American servers, keep in mind that a lot of Asian players use VPN Accelerators.
This results in many accounts showing the same IP address. Then, banning the IP Chinese gold sellers could affect legit players as well.
- Always ensure all characters on the IP are gold farmers
- If not, use an individual /ban
- Be particularly vigilant on SEA / TW / JP servers
